FRII will be the Wi-Fi Sponsor for SummerFest in the Rockies for the weekend of July 11-13.
Wireless connection for vendors and attendees will be provided by FRII.

"Wi-Fi from FRII is perfect for this type of thing," says FRII's Marketing Director, Amy Madden Copp. "To be able create a hot-spot of Wireless access is the best part about this technology." FRII is eager to provide Wi-Fi to events, festivals and areas where a large number of vendors or attendees may need to access the Internet. Wi-Fi technology gives retail vendors the ability to run credit card machines, utilize their online ordering tools and showcase their web site at events. "We are thrilled to work with Engaging Loveland again this year and look forward to ramping up their technology for all who attend," adds Copp.

SummerFest in the Rockies will take place at the Civic Center Park/Foote Lagoon, 500 E. Third Street in Downtown Loveland.   The event will feature live music presented by Centerra, a vendor marketplace, a classic car show presented by Pedersen Toyota, family amusements, food and beverages, beer and wine garden and a special fireworks display courtesy of Medical Center of the Rockies Foundation. Friday night will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with a Gourmet Wine Tasting hosted by World Beverage.  Saturday and Sunday activities begin at 10 a.m.

Engaging Loveland, Inc., the non-profit organization that supports and develops community-wide events and enhances tourism, is producing this community-wide festival.

TECH TIPS & TIDBITS
Support
Stay informed and up-to-date on all those technology terms and acronyms.
Please let us know if there are others you'd like to see added here by emailing us at newsletter@frii.com

Terms:

Truncation: Is the ability in a search, to enter the first part of a keyword, insert a symbol (usually *), and accept any variant spellings or word endings, from the occurrence of the symbol forward. (E.g., femini* retrieves feminine, feminism, feminism, etc.)

Boolean Logic: A way to combine terms using "operators" such as "AND," "OR," "AND NOT" and sometimes "NEAR."   "AND" requires all terms appear in a record. "OR" retrieves records with either term. "AND NOT" excludes terms. Parentheses may be used to sequence operations and group words. Always enclose terms joined by OR with parentheses.

*Thank you to UC Berkley -Glossary & Teaching Library for some of these definitions.

Tidbits:

Social Networking Sites can get pretty addicting. How can you prevent Internet addiction?
  • Set limits: Associate your social network as a leisure activity, not something you need to accomplish every day. Set aside a time of day, for example your lunch or coffee break, to visit the sites.
  • Turn off e-mail notifications: Many sites send e-mail alerts when someone posts a message on your social networking page. Getting lots of these e-mail alerts can tempt you to visit the sites more often, so its best to disable this feature.
*Thank you CBSNews.com for some of these tips.

Ask a Geek! If you have a tech-related question for us and would like to see it answered in our newsletter OR if you're in need of a definition, please email your questions and requests to newsletter@frii.com too!
