FRII Seamlessly Moves Into 19,000-Square-Foot Building; Begins 10th Anniversary Year
FORT COLLINS, COLO. -- January 25, 2005 -- Front Range Internet, Inc. (FRII), one of Colorado's
largest Internet service providers, kicked off its 10th anniversary year
with a seamless move in late December to its new 19,000-square-foot
headquarters at 3350 Eastbrook Dr., Fort Collins.
"Our 8,000 regional customers didn't experience any interruption in
service aside from our standard pre-dawn maintenance windows," said Bill
Ward, FRII president and CEO, who co-founded the fast-growing firm in
1995. "A customer asked us days after we finished relocating if the
system would be down due to the move. That's when I finally relaxed. I
knew we'd met our goal: to have customers completely unaware of the
situation."
He continued, "This was a complex and precision-filled move that went
off without a hitch. The credit goes to our 49 employees who spent
endless hours planning a flawless transition."
Ward, who launched FRII 10 years ago with his son and another colleague,
purchased the new, roomy headquarters in August. The facility is located
in southeast Fort Collins near the corner of Horsetooth and Timberline
roads.
To prepare the new building for FRII's employees and equipment, Delta
Construction tore down several walls and erected others. A designer
painted the office space in earth tones mixed with calming shades of
blues and reds.
Most importantly, FRII's headquarters include distinctive traits found
in the nation's top colocation facilities, which are highly secure
buildings that house servers, routers or other equipment needing
Internet connectivity for companies. The benefits of colocation
facilities are many: fewer server downtimes, onsite expertise available
24x7 and reduced costs since companies no longer need leased line
circuits, routers and associated equipment on site.
FRII's first-class colocation facility features raised flooring, fire
suppression, 24x7 secured access, uninterrupted power supplies,
generator backup, redundant fiber connectivity, environmental controls
with filtered air, a pressure positive environment and more.
In conjunction with the move, FRII now offers fiber connectivity to
companies needing more than a T1 line. Able to transmit up to a gigabyte
of data - or one billion bytes of information -- per second, fiber
quickly is becoming the connection choice over traditional DS3 services
for high-bandwidth needs.
10th Anniversary Year
Since opening 10 years ago, FRII's space needs have grown more than
tenfold, from 1,830-square-feet in 1995 to 19,000 square-feet today.
Starting with just a three-person office at 223 Linden St. in Old Town
Fort Collins in 1995, the company, named one of Colorado's
fastest-growing technology firms last year by Deloitte & Touche,
gradually took over additional space on multiple floors in the building.
As FRII continued to add services, such as Voice-Over Internet Protocol
(VoIP); expanded residential and business Internet offerings; and
broadband technologies including DSL and wireless, it also added
employees and equipment.
To celebrate the company's 10th successful year and its new facility,
FRII plans to host several events throughout the year. Company officials
will announce details in the coming weeks.
