Front Range Internet's VoIP Continues To Arrange for E911 Readiness
FORT COLLINS, CO -- August 19, 2005 -- Front Range Internet, one of Colorado's largest privately held, locally owned Internet service providers, has been offering their Voice over IP product, SureRing, since last year. But this month, they finalized an FCC compliance request-making sure all of their SureRing customers are aware of the differences of E911 in a VoIP environment.
"SureRing Business has been available for over a year, but we delayed the release of our SureRing Home so that viable 911 capabilities were available. We've never offered a VoIP service that didn't have some sort of 911 capability," says Bill Ward, President and CEO of FRII.
The FCC has recently ordered all interconnected VoIP providers to advise their VoIP customers of the circumstances under which E911 service may not be available or may be in some way limited by comparison to traditional E911 service.
"We have always informed our customers of VoIP 911 capabilities, even taking a conservative approach as to not release our residential VoIP product too early. Now, with the FCC requirement, we are going beyond that to comply. Making the formal E911 announcement to all of our VoIP customers allows them to stay informed and understand that FRII will be on the cutting edge of E911 capabilities as they become available."
"There is a lot of talk in the media right now about VoIP and E911 so we are constantly working to keep our customers informed in regards to how our VoIP services maybe utilized for their safety," adds Bill Ward.
