This document describes the policies governing your accounts and services with Front Range Internet. Most of these are standard Internet practice or reflect common laws governing the Internet in the global community. Violation of these policies may result in suspension or termination of services pursuant to the FRII User Service Agreement.

Billing Policies

All invoices are sent to the contact email address listed with your account. Please ensure that your contact email address is an account that you check regularly. Customers may choose to receive invoices via the USPS for a postal mailing fee of $1 per month.

Invoices are created on the 1st of every month and new charges are due on the 21st of each month. If payment has not been received by the 1st of the following month, a late fee is applied to any past due amount. If a past due balance remains by the 16th of the following month, services will be suspended until payment is received.

Quotas

Many accounts have a quota for disk space or host transfer usage. Usage above your quota limit will result in additional charges as described in the FRII pricelist. Additional quota may be added to your account for a recurring fee.

Host Transfer Quota

This quota measures the amount of data transferred via your personal web site and through FTP (some accounts may not have all these services). For most customers this is more than enough transfer bandwidth to cover normal usage. If the quota is exceeded, the account will be charged $15/GB each month for the excess beyond quota. Disk Quota

You may use your allotted disk space to store files, email, or to set up a personal web site. This quota is open-ended. You may use as much disk space as you need. Any amount used over the quota is charged $1/MB each month. If you plan on using lots of disk space over your quota for an extended period of time volume pricing is available. You can track current usage at https://www.frii.com/myfrii.

Dialup Connections

FRII monitors account usage and will disallow multiple dialup connections using the same account. Unlimited time accounts may be connected as long as you are actively using the service, but please log off when you are finished. Using automated means to maintain a connection while not actively using the connection is a violation of this policy.

Passwords

Your password must remain secure in order to ensure the integrity of the FRII service. Allowing someone else access to your password compromises the security of your account and may threaten the security of other FRII users and services. Avoid using the same password for FRII that you use for other systems; this can expose your account to additional security risks.

Websites

Websites containing mature or adult materials must be hosted under a non-FRII domain name, such as a domain name that you own. Publishing copyrighted materials without permission is illegal under federal and international copyright law and may result in account suspension or termination.

Email

FRII considers your email and account contents strictly confidential; however, routine maintenance of servers may result in the contents of your account being viewed by our administrators. FRII cannot ensure the confidentiality of email that is routed to or from other service providers.

Unsolicited bulk email (spam) is strictly prohibited. Using your account for the transmission of spam or as part of a spam campaign may result in account termination.

Forging your identity with the intent to misrepresent or mask your identity may result in account termination.

Online Forums and Usenet News

Some email policies apply to any online forum - no spamming (including excessive cross-posting to other forums) or forging your identity. To make sure you are posting an appropriate article, you should always read the forum's charter and take time to understand the forum itself.

Software Usage

FRII permits the execution of a web script or software program from your account only if it does not interfere with another user or with system operation and if it does not make excessive demands on system resources (number of processes, memory, processor time, network activity, etc.). Processes designed to run indefinitely (sometimes called Daemons) are not permitted. Avoid running software that duplicates a service already provided by FRII (Perl, Apache, etc.). To protect the operation of the service for all users, software that violates these policies may be disabled or removed without warning.

Upon request, FRII may install software for users on the FRII system. A fee may be charged for the installation and associated maintenance. FRII does not provide support for software you install.

Illegal Use

Using your account to distribute copyrighted materials without permission is illegal under federal and international copyright law. Transmission of any illegal material or use of your account for any illegal activity will result in immediate account termination and/or notification of law enforcement authorities.
