FRII Provides Community with 100Mb Internet Speeds

LOVELAND, CO — Residents in the new Lake Vista apartment community will have access to 100Mb Internet connection speeds thanks to a partnership between local Internet provider FRII and Centerra.

In 2009, local commercial real estate firm McWhinney partnered with FRII to provide fiber optic Internet service to the Centerra development. Because of this network investment, all tenants within Centerra have access to bandwidth services starting at 10Mbps up to Gigabit speeds, including the Lake Vista complex. McWhinney and FRII’s partnership is the first of its kind in Northern Colorado.

“McWhinney has been working with FRII for a number of years, and we have had a great experience in the past. That made it easy for us to move forward on this project with them,” says Mike Hill, McWhinney’s Senior Director of Multifamily Development & Operations. “Also, FRII was the only provider in the area with the ability to give us a 100Mb connection speed for an affordable price.”

Although the Fiber network is already in place, Centerra still has to invest in cabling, equipment, and labor to build the connections to the Lake Vista units. “We see it as money well spent; it is important that our residents have the most cutting edge technology available,” says Hill.

Barry Eastman, FRII’s VP of business development agrees. “Because of Centerra’s investment, 100Mb speeds will be available to residents the day they move in. FRII is also available to set up more than just their Internet connections. We can do just about anything, including setting up wireless networks, wiring and home networks, configuring routers, setting up and/or repairing computers, computer virus scans, and even audio/visual installations.”

Properties in the Lake Vista Community will be available for rent by the end of the year, and will be completely finished by September of 2011.
