Front Range Internet, Inc. (FRII) is currently seeking a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician I. This position provides quality customer service and support for FRII's internal and external customers. NOC is responsible for monitoring FRII and customer systems and networks in real-time as well as diagnosing and troubleshooting any and all issues 24/7/365.

This position offers room for personal and professional growth. At FRII, NOC I techs are the forefront for all initial (tier I) customer issues: technical as well as billing. The NOC team handles simple email issues through troubleshooting and expansion of our 10-Gigabit fiber ring and million-dollar data center. Within the NOC, technicians are available to move to a NOC II Tech and then up to a NOC III Tech, should they desire to do so, provided the NOC I technician passes a written examination and demonstrates aptitude in core technical areas. NOC technicians are also prime candidates to move into internal engineering positions as they become available; internal candidates are given preference provided they possess and can demonstrate the skills necessary to be successful in the position.

Responsibilities:

Provide customers with tier I telephone and email support for technical and billing issues
Real-time monitoring of FRII and customer systems, networks and services
Manage network/circuit, email, and hosting issues
Troubleshoot network problems with Vendor/Providers and customers in emergency situations
Maintain and update data for network/system monitoring and response
Assist with deployment and maintenance WiFRII wireless internet service (currently being separated to an independent team)
Requirements:

Strong understanding of multiple Operating Systems; GUI, and Command-line interfaces
Basic understanding of networking and server environments
Understanding of the Internet and its protocols and technologies
Phenomenal work ethic
High level of professionalism
Ability to work some swing, weekend shifts, and holidays (no regular overnight shifts)
Experience in the following is a plus:
DSL, Wireless networks, LANs, IP routing, POP, IMAP, SMTP, DNS, Apache, Linux, and Windows Servers

Schedule:
Full time: 5 days/week, 8-hour shifts. Potentially a mix of day (0800-1600) or swing (1400-2200), including weekends. Schedules are typically assigned and do not change for several months at a time.
